Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail

EnviroKey were engaged by Snowy Valleys Council to prepare the environmental assessment for the first rail trail in NSW, the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail.

Funded by the NSW Government as a pilot for rail trails in NSW, EnviroKey walked the 21km length of the trail to carry out a detailed assessment to prepare the Review of Environmental Factors. The REF allows for an appropriate assessment under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act to enable construction to commence.

The trail is fully sealed and passes through woodland and farmland and there are three major road crossings and a number of creek crossings including Mannus Creek.

This is the first rail trail on an ex-Government rail corridor in NSW and it was officially opened on April 3, 2020.
